This technical training program features intensive hands-on instruction and provides young people with the knowledge and skills to operate professional theater equipment, manage productions, and design original content.

Technical theater production students:

  • Study production, lighting, and sound design with industry professionals
  • Train with professional lighting and audio components
  • Acquire practical skills in show load-in and operation of audio, visual and lighting equipment
  • Plan and stage performances

Classes will take place in Moving in the Spirit’s new state-of-the-art theater facility. Students will train on newly-installed, top-of-the-line equipment, gaining hands-on experience that will prepare them for careers as technical experts and production managers in theater and film locally and nationally.

Like our dance classes, the Technical Theater Production program is designed to support the whole child. Through our youth development-based curriculum, on-the-job training, and weekly team meetings, students will build the skills they need to thrive as professionals and as accomplished, confident young adults.
