ICON

March 14 & 16, 2024

What is an icon? Is it a symbol? A saint? A celebrity?

This spring, Moving in the Spirit’s stage will come alive with movement inspired by the people, places, ideas, and things that transcend recognition or popularity to become something greater than themselves.

From the skin-tone emoji, crafted by the visionary Katrina Parrott, to the emblematic Jordan sneaker symbolizing hope in adversity, to the timeless fairytales that shape our perceptions and expectations of ourselves, this performance delves into the soul of what it means to be an icon.

Featuring the young artists in Moving in the Spirit’s GLOW in Motion, Men in Motion, and Apprentice Corporation performance companies.
