Fall Dance Series: Contemporary & Fusion

Celebrate the Spectrum of Contemporary Dance!

From the rhythms of West Africa to the heartbeat of Atlanta—and everything in between—this six-week series explores the many expressions of contemporary dance.

Alternating between Contemporary Fusion and Contemporary Dance, instructors Kalah Byrd and Spencer Lee Tegner will guide movers of all ages to discover the flow, freedom, and creativity of contemporary movement.

  • Contemporary Fusion: An explorative class blending West African movement, modern and contemporary components, and ATL culture.

  • Contemporary Dance: Explore musicality, self-expression, and your own movement language in a safe, encouraging environment.

*This offering is part of Moving in the Spirit’s community class series. Each class is open to movers of all ages, from children to seniors, and families can take classes together.

Class Rates

Individual Class Rates:

  • Adults (ages 18+): $20/class
  • Children & Seniors: $15/class
  • Moving in the Spirit students, families, & alumni: $15

Class Pass* (six classes per pass):

  • General Public: $90 ($15 per class)
  • Moving in the Spirit students, families, & alumni: $75 ($12.50 per class)

* Students who purchase a Class Pass will receive their pass when they arrive for their first class. Passes will be stamped each subsequent class upon arrival. Moving in the Spirit cannot refund unused classes.

Parking & Accessibility

Moving in the Spirit is located at 1458 La France Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30307. Patrons who need assistance can disembark at our accessible entrance directly in front of our theater. Our lobby, studios, restrooms, and theater are all wheelchair accessible.

If you are driving, there is free street parking available (please read all signs) surrounding our facility.

There is also free parking in the MARTA parking deck behind Moving in the Spirit, with ramps, elevators, and dedicated accessible parking spaces. To enter, use the deck entrance on Mayson Avenue. After you park, you can access Moving in the Spirit from the exit on Level 1.
