James MahKween
Teaching Artist
James MahKween is from Atlanta, GA. He graduated with a BFA in Musical Theater from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). Since graduating, MahKween has continued setting and reaching goals. He has performed with several artists and companies, including Lula Washington Dance Theatre, JazzAntiqua, Kouman Kele African Dance and Drum Company, and BrockusRED. He has traveled to Kenya to teach dance and perform with Impact Dance Company and has also developed his own choreography. His choreography has been featured at NAACP ACT-SO 2014 & 2015, Highways Performance Space, DANCESCAPE, DanceSpot LA, Tri-Art Festival, So-Cal Dance Invitational, Carnival Choreographers Ball, CrayProjects P.I.N.S., Short and Sweet Dance, LA Dance Fest, HHII Dance Festival, and many more. MahKween has also produced his own showcases, including REFLECT, F.E.M., Love Inclinations, and CatCall!
