Ready to challenge yourself as a dancer?
Audition for Moving in the Spirit's 2026–2027 Training & Performance Companies and train alongside dedicated young artists while performing throughout Atlanta and beyond.
Our Training Companies are designed for intermediate and advanced dancers who are ready to dedicate multiple days each week to developing their technique, artistry, and leadership.
Dancers may also audition for the Youth Ambassador Team, Moving in the Spirit's premiere performance company. Youth Ambassadors represent our organization with excellence through local, regional, and national performances and community engagements.

Choose Your Audition Date
Dancers can select ONE of the following audition dates: Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 10 AM - 2 PM, or Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 2 PM - 6 PM.
All auditions will be held at Moving in the Spirit.

What to Expect at Auditions
Warm Up & Across-the-Floor
Students will have a ballet and modern center warm-up; perform a jazz combination across the floor that will include an element of improvisation; and learn a contemporary dance routine
Essay
Students will also need to prepare a 2-3 paragraph essay. In the essay, students will answer the following questions: How does dance make you feel, and how will you use that feeling to impact the world?
Public Speaking
Moving in the Spirit is NOT only about dance technique. All students should be prepared to introduce themselves and explain why they want to join the group(s) they are auditioning for.

What happens if I’m not placed in a company?
Students not placed in a training company or performance company can still take classes and perform with Moving in the Spirit!
Moving in the Spirit is structured so that there is a class for everyone. Our program team will place you in an appropriate-level Stepping Stones class – and make recommendations for supplementary technique classes – so that you can build your skill and prepare for next year’s audition.
*After you register to audition, we highly encourage you to enroll in one of our age-appropriate Stepping Stones classes. This will ensure that you will have a spot in a class on the day and time of your choice if you are not placed in a training or performance company.
